On August 11 at around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the Barrington Apartments located in the 10600 block of Blendia Lane, where they discovered that a 23-year-old female victim had been strangled and pushed to the ground, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
The suspect who assaulted the woman, 23-year-old Osman Salguero Jr., prevented the victim from escaping and beat her before he eventually let her leave, police said.
The victim went to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries, authorities reported.
Salguero Jr., was charged with strangulation, abduction, and domestic assault and battery, police said.
Law enforcement said he had a pending court date and no information about bond was given.
